you can try ping yahoo.com in Command Prompt :
Please Follow  Given  Steps :

Click Start -> Run type cmd
 command Prompt will Open
then type

ping yahoo.com -t

if you are getting




C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator>ping yahoo.com -t

Request timed out.

please restart Modem then do the same steps again ;
